The H/S Elliptosphere Catheter is designed for use in sonohysterography and hysterosalpingography procedures for administering contrast media to detect uterine pathology such as polyps, fibroids, adhesions, or endometrial thickening, and/or patency of fallopian tubes.
The H/S Elliptosphere Catheter Set consists of a latex free balloon catheter, insertion sheath, and a 1.5 cc (3mL) syringe. The H/S Elliptosphere Catheter can be used with aqueous or oil-based contrast media and is not made with natural rubber latex.
A patented elliptosphere balloon affords complete clinical control with minimal patient discomfort.
Control of the balloon contour and volume permits secure placement in the cervical canal or uterine cavity for optimal visualization. A unique balloon design prevents retrograde leakage of distension media, which facilitates peak uterine distention. Small catheter size enables placement next to ultrasound probe.
Available in two versions: with and without an integrated stylet.

Non-Latex Balloon
The unique, patented polyurethane non-latex balloon is elliptical at low volume for placement in the cervical canal for optimal visualization of the uterine cavity, including the lower uterine segment.
Oil and Water-Based Hysterosalpingography
Because of the unique design of this flexible, small-sized catheter, the procedure is better tolerated by the patient. The unique placement sheath also enables the balloon-bearing catheter to be positioned quickly into the uterus or cervical canal.
Full Visualisation
At full volume, the balloon becomes round for placement at the internal opening of the uterus for complete uterine visualization.
